It represented Texas’s first TV station. Amon G. Carter, Sr., publisher of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram at the time, was behind the station launch. Carter was also behind radio station WBAP. Wygant's book, "Talking to the Stars," chronicles a significant arc of history.
